Artwork (Object) Edgar Degas "Female Figure" Resin Sculpture Restoration (Repair)

Product requested: Polystone La Danse Espagnole (bronze statue finish)

[Before]

Details are unknown, but it is a restoration of a polystone artwork. As it is about 40cm tall and heavy, the key points are to ensure the strength of the broken parts and to reproduce the texture of copper.

First, brass wire is inserted into the areas that will be subjected to load to reinforce them.

Putty is placed into any gaps and then roughly sanded with a router to recreate the uneven texture.

I used a nearly black metallic base and painted in the areas that become lighter as a result of rubbing, and then it was complete.
